The City Council of the City of Columbus adopted Ordinance No. 17-01, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 14 Public Health, Wells, Sewers, and Utilities on August 23, 2017 and approved this summary of the ordinance for publication on August 23, 2017.
The City Council has authority to regulate city municipal code in the City. Following discussion at the City Council and the City Planning Commission, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 17-01 to amend the City Code as described in this summary publication as follows:
A zoning code text amendment to amend Columbus City Code Chapter 14 governing public health, wells sewers and utilities. This amendment requires the preservation of a secondary soil treatment area to accommodate a subsurface sewage treatment system and eliminates redundant language. Robert “Bob” Neeser

Robert “Bob” Neeser, age 68, of Columbus, passed away on August 30, 2017, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Preceded in death by parents, Ray and Ann; siblings, Jerry, Betty Drewlo and Ken.
Survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Mary; children, Cheryl Gfrerer, Rob (Amy), Jim (Diona); grandchildren, Bailey, Hailey, McKenzie, Connor, Aliyah; great grandson, Landon; numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held 1-4 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 840 40th Ave NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421.

Council butts heads over residency request

Right at the end of the public portion of the Forest Lake City Council’s Aug. 28 meeting – just a few minutes before the council retired to closed session to discuss labor negotiations – two councilmen got into a brief but forceful exchange during a discussion about council member residency, after Councilwoman Mara Bain and Councilman Sam Husnik requested that Councilman Michael Freer present evidence to the city that he still lives within the Forest Lake city limits.
After the meeting, The Times met with Freer, who presented The Times with his current driver’s license. The Times verified that the driver’s license has a Forest Lake address that is different from both his previous Granada Avenue Court address and his old address on Birch Drive, where he lived when he filed with the city to run for council in 2010 and 2014, which indicates that he is not using one of

Notice of Public Hearings – CITY OF WYOMING

The City of Wyoming Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at the Wyoming City Hall, 26885 Forest Boulevard, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. to consider the request of Brad Arnold of Hytec Construction, representing property owner Scott Timmons for a rezoning of the Timmons property from the Limited Multiple Dwelling District (R6) to the Central Business District (CB).
