Theatrical production
“Children of Eden” will be on stage at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1790 SE 11th St. June 22, 23, and 24 at 7 p.m. and June. 24 at 3 p.m.

The Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library will host a chemistry fun for kids event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 24. The event will feature members of the Minnesota section of the American Chemical Society. Call 651-462-9001 for more information.

The East Bethel seniors will host a dance from 1 to 4 p.m. July 7 at the community center one mile east of Highway 65 on 221 Avenue. Cost is $6 and includes lunch. The featured performer is Jerry Bierschbach.

Ambrose “Red” A. Nalewaja Sr.

ed passed away on May 22, 2017 at the age of 85.
He is survived by wife Arlene (nee Jensen); daughter Lorraine (Dick) Agnes; sons, Tony (Mary) Nalewaja and Dean Nalewaja; grandsons, Jeremy (Jamie) Agnes, Josh (Janelle) Agnes, Jesse (Megan Rydeen) Agnes, Chuck Nalewaja, Brian (Sheri Lammers) Nalewaja, Dan Nalewaja, Chad Gombos; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Lorraine (Clem) Bleninger; and other family and friends.
Red was born in Browerville and has lived in S. St. Paul, Forest Lake, Sandstone and most recently Harris, MN. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and napping.
A memorial service will be held on at 1 p.m. on July 8, 2017 at the Coon Lake Community/Senior Center, 182 Forest Rd., Wyoming, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Massey move paves way for administrative changes

Steve Massey’s move from Forest Lake Area High School principal to district superintendent, effective July 1, has paved the way for a series of administrative changes in five Forest Lake school buildings. Buildings affected include the Forest Lake Area High School, Linwood Elementary, Lino Lakes Elementary, Century Junior High and Southwest Junior High.
“There were many difficult decisions to be made,” current Superintendent Linda Madsen said in a press release. “We are fortunate to have a strong group of school administrators in our district, and our first priority is always to ensure that each of our administrators is a good fit for the building they lead. Every school is different, and I am confident that, moving forward, this team of administrators will do a tremendous job in their respective roles, whether they are remaining at their current buildings or moving on to new challenges.”broadstreet.zone(48036);

Educational upgrade

A new biology and chemistry lab area at the Forest Lake Area High School will allow students to explore the hands-on side of learning.
