Survived by husband, Peter; children, Ann Carter, Joe (Shawn), Eric (Julie); grandchildren, Elle Carter, Evan Carter, Willis, Emma.
A Celebration of Casey’s Life 11 AM Friday, May 19th at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 N Shore Dr., Forest Lake with visitation beginning one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Faith Lutheran Church.

Larry Dean McKee

Larry Dean McKee, age 74, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 23, in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He is survived by his wife Judith of Forest Lake; son Mark (April Schmidt) of Forest Lake; stepsons Matthew Kelley of Burnsville and Douglas Kelley (Amanda); grandchildren Harrison and Miles of Winona, MN; siblings Douglas (Ruby) McKee of Castlewood, SD, Charlene Poppen (Melvin) of Lino Lakes, and Linda McKee of Watertown, SD.
He is preceded in death by brothers David and Loren.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at Forest Hills Methodist Church, Forest Lake, MN on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Local FFA officers return from educational, cultural experience in South Africa

Mariah Daninger and Joe Ramstad, both Forest Lake High School graduates, spent a portion of their winter break on a 12-day educational and cultural experience in South Africa.
Daninger and Ramstad participated in the 2017 International Leadership Seminar for State Officers, an annual, international opportunity through the National FFA Organization for past and present state FFA officers. The experience allows FFA members to experience foreign culture, learn about international agriculture and become more knowledgeable of the global marketplace.broadstreet.zone(48036);
Seventy five past and present state FFA officers representing 20 states left the U.S. on Jan. 4. The group traveled throughout five of the country’s nine provinces while surveying the agricultural landscape. FFA officers met with government and U.S. Embassy officials to learn about U.S.-South African trade relations, toured crop and livestock operations, met with business and industry leaders and explored a private game reserve, which is home to lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and

Hundreds attend, but no decision yet on FLPD

Forest Lake will have to wait at least one more week – but likely not longer – before the City Council decides whether or not to accept a contract law enforcement proposal from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Anticipating a decision at the council’s May 1 special meeting, interested Forest Lake residents crammed into the Forest Lake City Center, with most attendees expressing support for a rejection of the proposal and the retention of the Forest Lake Police Department. Well over 100 people wedged into the council chambers, while a crush of people watched the meeting in the hallway outside and another large group watched the proceedings in a community room upstairs in the center.
