Plunging for parties

Kaden Wasson, of Chisago City, has enjoyed some great birthday celebrations through his 11 years.
Having a birthday in February has meant that many of his special party activities with friends have been focused indoors, including at bowling centers, laser tag arenas and heated swimming pools.
Wanting to plan for his recent birthday on Feb. 12, Kaden’s mother Lisa Wasson asked her son in late January about what or how he might want to celebrate this year.
Thinking back to past birthday fun and to recent gifts such as a dartboard and a PlayStation game console for Christmas and other occasions, Kaden could not think of new ideas or requests for his birthday.

Wyoming EDA earns grant funding for community development

The Minnesota Business Finance Corporation recently presented a grant to the City of Wyoming Economic Development Authority. Terry Stein, Vice President of Business Development, Minnesota Business Finance Corporation, met with Nancy Hoffman, Executive Director of Chisago County HRA/EDA to present the award.
Hoffman said the funds from the grant will be used to assist with hiring a consultant to facilitate an economic strategy. The Wyoming EDA would like to provide the framework to promote the local community to businesses. The consultant would also assist with preparing an economic strategy as part of the development planning process.broadstreet.zone(48036);

Comedy show
Running Aces Casino and Racetrack’s Laugh Your Ace Off Comedy Club, 15201 Zurich St., presents its March Comedy Show with headliner B.T., featuring Rana May and hosted by Rick Logan at 7:30 p.m. March 11. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show
EAST BETHEL
Pancake breakfast
The East Bethel seniors will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to noon March 12 at the community center one mile east of Hwy. 65 on 221 Avenue. The event will feature pancakes, french toast, sausage, juice, coffee, and choice of egg. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for kids 10 and under.
SCANDIA
Spaghetti dinner
Scandia boy scout troop 173 will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. March 16 at the Scandia community center. Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and children.
