Washington County is reaching out to area businesses with an offer they can’t refuse – cut costs while protecting local water supplies. The outreach effort, conducted in partnership with the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program at the University of Minnesota includes two components: free, in-depth water efficiency consultations, conducted by MnTAP engineering staff, and specially trained summer interns who can help to implement water efficiency measures. The goal is to reduce overall groundwater use within the county and make it easy for local businesses to do the right thing.broadstreet.zone(48036);

In addition to providing drinking water for more than 246,000 people, groundwater is also the only source used for irrigation and industry in the county. Aquifers provide a clean source

Ranger bowling makes run to sweet 16 at state
Photo by Brad O’NeilCody Mouch bowls during the match against Farmington.
Twenty-four teams of seven bowlers each were squeezed into the approaches at Memory Lanes in Minneapolis on Saturday morning, and the action was nonstop – every lane was a whirlwind of motion and sound, with the bowlers, balls and pins in constant motion.
One player from each team would bowl, while the other six players and two coaches crowded around to offer encouragement and urge the pins to fall.
