Is it ever a good idea to contact a judge to share information you have about a case that the judge is hearing? Sometimes people send in letters in support of – or against – someone charged with a crime. Other times, judges receive letters in divorce cases to provide background about the family. Sometimes correspondence is received advising that someone that will be in court is particularly untruthful. The Forest Lake baseball team didn’t score a run until the top of the sixth inning, but once the offense got going, it could not be stopped. The Rangers defeated Woodbury 9-1 in a Class AAAA state semifinal game June 16 at CHS Field, and will play for the state title on June 19.broadstreet.zone(48036);
Through five innings, Woodbury held a 1-0 lead, even though Ranger pitcher Luke Wallner had only allowed four scattered hits, while the Rangers had put runners in scoring position in four innings. In three of those innings, the Rangers hit into rally-killing double plays.
“It’s hard when you’re not scoring those runs early, but the boys stayed with it,” Forest Lake head coach Tal Gravelle said. “They kept a good attitude.”

Massey move paves way for administrative changes
Dr. Steve Massey’s move from Forest Lake Area High School principal to District Superintendent (effective July 1) has paved the way for a series of administrative changes in five Forest Lake school buildings. Buildings affected include the Forest Lake Area High School, Linwood Elementary, Lino Lakes Elementary, Century Junior High, and Southwest Junior High.
“There were many difficult decisions to be made,” current Superintendent Linda Madsen said in a press release. “We are fortunate to have a strong group of school administrators in our district, and our first priority is always to ensure that each of our administrators is a good fit for the building they lead. Every school is different, and I am confident that, moving forward, this team of administrators will do a tremendous job in their respective roles, whether they are remaining at their current buildings or moving on to new challenges.”
