Forest Lake’s 2016 football campaign reached its conclusion on Friday, Oct. 28, after the Rangers lost in the opening round of the Group 6A playoffs at Minnetonka,;
Big plays were the order of the evening for the Skippers, who scored fourth of their first-half touchdowns on plays of 40 yards or more. Gus Steiger opened the scoring with a 72-yard scoring run. On the following drive, Ranger quarterback Tristan Cordie scrambled for 32 yards to the Tonka 29-yard line, but he lost hold of the ball and the Skippers recovered. The Rangers fumbled six times in the game, with Tonka falling on four of them.
