Exploring Dutch Paradise at Dutch Club Brisbane NAQ

The 70-year-old Dutch Club Brisbane NAQ on Pine Road in Richlands remains a delightful experience into Dutch culture and cuisine for members and customers in the area.

Since its founding in 1952, the association has been a gathering place for individuals of Dutch origin or descent and their families celebrating roots, fostering connections, and camaraderie within Brisbane’s Dutch community.

The club membership allows access to events, activities and a chance to shop at the Dutch food shop for cardholders and customers.

As mentioned, central to the Dutch Club experience is its Dutch Club Shop – Het Winkeltje. Open on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, customers can visit the shop that offers a wide selection of authentic Dutch foods.

From Dutch delicacies Frikadelen to Appeltaart, coffee and familiar brands like Hak vegetables, Koopmans, and Dr Oetker bake goods, visitors can savor a taste of the Netherlands right in Brisbane. Apart from this, they also sell Dutch liquors like Dutch Liquorice – Zoet, Zoute & Salmiak Drop – a favorite among Dutch food enthusiasts.

Aside from the club’s culinary offerings, they also host various events and activities throughout the year.

For instance, regular weekly gatherings during Friday mornings provide members with opportunities to play Dutch games, share stories, connect, and celebrate Dutch heritage within the community.

While for the club’s upcoming events, the celebration for the Dutch Kings Day and Holland Festival, two of the anticipated annual events hosted by the club, will commence on Sunday, 28 April 2024. Attendees can expect the day to be filled with festivities, music, and mouthwatering Dutch cuisine.
