The Lake Parklands Comes Alive for the Forest Lake Community Festival

The Forest Lake Community Festival 2023 is coming up soon and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with shows, rides, food and market stalls, and other activities covering the stage, amphitheatre, The Esplanade and the playground surrounding the lake at The Lake Parklands. Best of all, entrance is FREE!



On the 26th of August, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., a day of fun and entertainment awaits visitors at The Lake Parklands featuring a diverse array of entertainment that include roaming performers, dance troupes, cultural showcases, and community performances by students from local schools.

Those seeking a bit more excitement won’t be disappointed as there will be dragon boat rides, along with exhibits featuring reptiles and animals plus interactive touch-and-feel activities.

Meanwhile, foodies won’t be disappointed, with a selection of food trucks on hand to serve scrumptious treats. And after you have your fill, you can browse through a broad assortment of products, crafts, and other treasures just waiting to be discovered.

As the sun sets, a visual extravaganza will cap the festivities with a stunning display of lasers and fireworks that promises to light up the night sky and leave attendees in awe.

Free School Holiday Activities at The Lake Parklands This Summer

The sunny weather opens opportunities for a lot of playtimes outdoors this school holiday. In Forest Lake, there are two exciting activities lined up at The Lake Parklands, which won’t cost a penny and it’s pretty easy to book.

These FREE school holiday activities provide a few hours of fun that will enrich your children’s summer. They also learn new skills even whilst school is out.

This activity is suitable for children between the ages of 10 to 17. Qualified ASF coaches will be teaching the kids the basics for beginners but those who have some experience with longboarding may also pick up advanced techniques from the trainers. Boards and helmets will be provided but it’s advisable for participants to bring their own, including knee pads, gloves and other form of protection.

Would you like your child to become a team player? This activity allows your son or daughter to learn skills like teamwork, strategizing, coordination and collaboration. This session is for eight 10 to 15-year-old children.

Grab this chance for your kids to be engaged in something really exciting besides fiddling on their gadgets or mobile phones. Arrive at least 30 minutes before the session starts so that your children may have a chance to break the ice with the other participants.

Dancing is not only a fun activity but also a great form of exercise. It’s good for your heart, helps you become stronger, and aids in improving your balance and coordination.

A 30-minute dance class is said to burn between 130 to 250 calories which is the same as jogging.

Dance2BFit, a high-energy dance fitness class, provides a full body workout. It combines all styles of dance and movement. Try out a different form of full-body workout that is both fun and easy yet effective.

Dance2BFit is open to all ages so you can bring your family along. Booking is not required for this free event.

Fitness 4 me

Fitness 4 me is a skipping and hula hooping exercise class brought to you by Aggie at Mona Health Coach. It includes weight training, cardio and flexibility exercises that assist with join movements.

Open for all ages, this exercise class is free for all and no bookings required. For more information, call Aggie at Mona Health Coach on 0433 463 578.

Participants are required to bring an exercise mat or towel.

Meeting point will be under the blue shade sails of the Lake Parklands.

Yoga back to nature will help you reap the benefits of yoga in an outdoor setting. Practising yoga outdoors and being one with nature lets you experience yoga as it was originally intended.
