Anthem furor comes to Forest Lake

The Cristo Rey Jesuit volleyball team kneeled during the playing of the national anthem before a match at North Lakes Academy Thursday night.
An emotional, highly-charged atmosphere arose at North Lakes Academy last night after the visiting Cristo Rey Jesuit volleyball team knelt in protest when the national anthem was played prior to the varsity contest, which North Lakes went on to win in four sets (25-15, 23-25, 25-12, 25-8).
The Times was able to speak to Cristo Rey players as well as supporters and detractors of the protest at the conclusion of the match, but welcomes further input from anyone who was present at the game.
