The skyline of Stillwater is punctuated by spires and steeples. Looming high over the city’s South Hill for the nearly 150 years has been the Historic Washington County Courthouse. Organizers expect more than 1,000 visitors to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the building’s groundbreaking at a free, family-orientated event 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 3 on the grounds of the Washington County Historic Courthouse, located at 101 Pine St. W. in Stillwater.broadstreet.zone(48036);
“It’s the longest standing courthouse in Minnesota and was influential in the growth of the state and Washington County,” historic courthouse employee Elise Gardner said. “It’s important to celebrate such a fantastic structure.”
