Two years ago, I found a steal of a deal for a round-trip flight to Philadelphia: $29.54, to be specific. As someone who loves adventure, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Much to the dismay and worry of my mother, I boarded the flight without any official plans other than a place to crash at night. I toured around Philadelphia’s center city in excitement and awe as the history books I had once read came to life in front of me that day. The next day, I picked up a bus ticket to Washington D.C. and traveled to our nation’s capital. Touring around that day opened my eyes to just how much our nation has been through and just how much it still has left to see.
