Led by Century Junior High English teachers and Student Council advisors Suzanne McDowell and Keith Schwartz, the Century Junior High Student Council decided in December that they wanted to raise and collect food for the community during the holidays. So on Dec. 22, student council members loaded vehicles with more than 1,800 food items and $1,209 and delivered them to the Forest Lake Family Pathways Thrift Store. The council fundraises each year and picks a different place to raise funds and food for. This year, the council enjoyed watching how the entire operation is run with Family Pathways and wanted to give back to the organization, so they hosted their drive from Dec. 12 to 22 for Family Pathways. Schwartz said it was a very successful food-drive and fundraiser, and the student council is looking forward to providing this service every year.
