Great River Greening invites volunteers to a brush pile burning event where invasive buckthorn is the fuel. Fifty volunteers are needed to haul, stack and burn pre-cut buckthorn. Great River Greening will serve the cocoa. All are welcome to bring hotdogs, marshmallows, and roasting sticks.
The event will take place Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allemansrätt Wilderness Park, 31316 N. Olinda Trail, Lindstrom. Interested parties should register at goo.gl/6uFKjPbroadstreet.zone(48036);
This event is billed as a moderate to heavy level restoration task and is open to all ages. This event is weather permitting and will be postponed if too dry or too cold. Wear fire safe clothing and bring food for roasting and camping chairs or 5-gallon buckets for sitting by the fire.
