PREVIEW: Softball hungry to improve on state finish

In 2016, the Forest Lake softball team advanced to the Class AAAA state tournament, making it as far as the consolation championship before falling to Suburban East Conference rivals Park.

With the 2017 season underway, the Rangers have already played the three teams who equaled or bettered them in 2016, taking wins from Woodbury and defending champion Park before falling to Stillwater.
“Last year, we were 0-5 against Woodbury and Park,” head coach Sean Hall said. “We’re off to a pretty good start this year. I like where we are. Between Park, Stillwater, Woodbury and us all beating up on each other, I wouldn’t be surprised if whoever wins the conference has two or three losses.”
