Rangers go to state on Klein’s shutout

The Forest Lake baseball advanced to the state tournament after winning 1-0 over Duluth East in the Sectional 7AAAA championship game at Mark Park in Princeton June 7.

Instead, the Rangers confirmed their place in the Class AAAA tournament on the strength of a two-hit performance by pitcher Cameron Klein and a clutch hit by first baseman Mitch Jerde.
“We’ve told these players, in section play it often comes down to close games: well-pitched games, good defense and timely hitting,” head coach Tal Gravelle said. “That’s what we got today.”
