The Forest Lake boys and girls track and field teams began their season with an indoor meet at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, on March 25. The girls placed second as a team with 80 points. The boys finished 11th with 26.
Rochester Century won the girls competition and La Crosse Central the boys, both with 88. Seventeen schools – 10 from Minnesota and seven from Wisconsin – participated.broadstreet.zone(48036);
The girls effort was headlined by a pair of victories in the distance races. Sophomore Regan Duffy took the gold medal in the 1600 meters with a mark of 5:24.79, besting her nearest competitor by more than six seconds. Eighth-grader Amelea Hauer won the 800 meters in 2:27.91, more than five seconds ahead of second.
