Marine on St. Croix artist Tom Maakestad spoke at a recent Scandia-Marine Lions meeting about his month in Austria this past July. Maakestad was a visiting artist in residence staying in Salzburg. During the month there, he completed 50 paintings. Maakestad has a gallery in Minneapolis in addition to his studio in Marine on St. Croix, where he has lived for 20 years.
